This year we will be using BOCES Kits for our Science Units.

Properties: November-February
The children will classify and sort objects by size, color, shape, and texture. They will compare and contrast items by weight, buoyancy, magnetic attraction, and material composition. Children will observe that objects exist in different forms: solid, liquid, and gas. They will also learn to use equipment such as balances to gain information about objects.

Organisms: March-June
The children will create and maintain a woodland habitat. They will have the opportunity to observe a freshwater habitat as well. Children will draw conclusions about how plants and animals are similar and different. They will also explore how humans are similar and different from other living things.
